Avfuel Welcomes Westair Aviation of Ireland to Branded Network

Nov. 8, 2017

Avfuel welcomes Westair Aviation to the Avfuel Network of fuelling locations as the premier aircraft management company adds full fuelling and ground-handling services as a U.S.-style FBO operating its own dedicated refueling trucks to its base at Shannon International Airport in County Clare, Ireland.

“We’re excited for Westair as it embarks on this new line of business, and excited that we get to be part of this experience as its chosen fuel supplier,” said Joel Hirst, vice president of sales for Avfuel Corporation.

Though the operation just recently added its FBO business, it’s far from new to aviation services. Westair’s experienced management team has run an upstanding charter and aircraft management operation for 40 years and will continue to utilize that invaluable experience to enhance its services to Avfuel customers at Shannon Airport.

With this background in flight operations and aircraft management, Westair—licensed by the Irish Aviation Authority and the European Aviation Safety Agency—understands what GA traffic needs and expects from a premier FBO. With a dedicated, full-service facility, guests to the operation can be assured they will receive the best experience private aviation can deliver when stopping in Shannon. Westair also offers concierge service to its clients, and is on-call day and night to readily respond to any requirements.

Among its array of services and amenities, Westair offers its customers charter services, fleet management for fixed-wing and rotary aircraft, a VIP passenger lounge, a crew rest room, a dedicated ramp, fuel trucks, hangar space, maintenance, a main-ramp office for tech stops and quick turns, both jet A1 and avgas, special rates for Avfuel Contract Fuel users, AVTRIP Points, and U.S. pre-clearance via Shannon Airport.

“Westair welcomes the Avfuel brand to Shannon International Airport and we look forward to delivering a seamless service as the only U.S.-style FBO in Shannon to Avfuel customers,” said Liam Murphy, operations manager of Westair.

Located on the west coast, Westair is a premier facility for GA traffic visiting mid-west Ireland and the Wild Atlantic Way, a culturally-rich and naturally-stunning region. Business visitors who wish to take in the spectacular surrounds of the area will find themselves merely 2.5 hours from Dublin City by road. Westair also affords GA traffic a quick transatlantic stopover from the eastern U.S. to the northwestern region of Europe and beyond.
