Desert Jet Center Announces Opening of FBO at the Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport

Aug. 10, 2016

Desert Jet Center based at the Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport in Thermal (KTRM), proudly announces the opening of their Fixed Base Operation (fbo) to the business and general aviation community.

“The opening of Desert Jet Center is the next evolution for Desert Jet family of companies”, said Denise Wilson, company founder and CEO. “We are extremely pleased to be making this important announcement today.”

Desert Jet Center now offers executive aircraft handling services for travelers to the Coachella Valley by air, including Jet A fueling, parking, inside hangar storage, terminal services, aircraft detailing and FAA-certified maintenance on jet aircraft. Specialized concierge services such as ground transportation and aircraft inflight catering are also available. The upscale “service station” for aircraft is the first of its type here in the desert. While there are existing FBOS in the region, none of them offer a full complement of all services that a business jet operator requires, such as aircraft maintenance, detailing, asset management, leasing, charter, and acquisitions and sales representation.

Desert Jet Center recently announced the construction of its new five-acre aviation facility which is slated to be completed by the end of this year. The new FBO is temporarily operating from an upscale, interim facility located directly on the airport’s main arrival ramp, just yards from the airport’s 8500-foot-long runway. Hangar space is available to accommodate aircraft up to the size of the Gulfstream G650, one of the newest and largest business aviation aircraft. Both jet fuel and 100LL fuel is available and ramp space to accommodate aircraft as large as a Boeing 767 is ample.

The dream and desire to start the FBO business came to founder Denise Wilson in 2011 when she operated a large number of jet aircraft with significant numbers of passengers travelling through various FBOs around the country. Denise witnessed first-hand how a poor FBO experience could negatively affect her passenger’s perception of their overall flight experience. Her desire to improve the overall customer experience was the impetus to build a new facility that provides the same type of anticipatory service that Desert Jet Charter provides as an operator. With that vision, Desert Jet Center was born.
