VIENNA, OH-March 9, 2016–Winner Aviation, located at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport (YNG), announced today the airport will now be a Gateway Airport for general aviation aircraft wishing to fly into Reagan National Airport in Washington D.C. (DCA).
Winner Aviation applied for status as Reagan Gateway Airport last year for its General Aviation and Flight Department customers. Corporate flight departments based in other cities must clear a TSA inspection in a Gateway City and hire an armed air marshal before landing at DCA in Washington D.C. Winner received the authorization to provide their facilities and personnel for the TSA to conduct this screen at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport.
Only the flight departments who have been approved to fly into Reagan National Airport can use the service here at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport. Winner Aviation, who owns and operates corporate aircraft, is also now an approved flight department for flights to Reagan National Airport. Winner will be able to take passengers directly from the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport to Reagan National Airport.
“We are pleased that we are approved as a DCA Gateway airport and we can provide our customers the convenience of flying from the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport directly into Reagan National Airport”, says Michael Hillman, Director of Flight Operations at Winner Aviation. “Our customers’ drive time from DCA to the capital mall is now only a matter of minutes rather than an hour or more from surrounding airports.”
