HMO Company To Lease Two Floors at SkyCenter One Tower at Tampa Airport

March 8, 2022

For the second time in a month, a major new tenant is coming to the new SkyCenter One office building at Tampa International Airport.

Simply Healthcare Plans, a health maintenance organization, or HMO, that works with those enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid, will relocate its Tampa office to the tower, developers VanTrust Real Estate announced Friday. The company will occupy the seventh and eighth floors of the nine-story building, a lease of approximately 63,000 square feet.

It’s not that far of a move. Simply Healthcare Plans’ current office is just west of Tampa International Airport, across the Veterans Expressway and north of State Road 60. The company is expected to move later this year.

The new lease puts SkyCenter One at more than 88 percent capacity. In February, VanTrust announced that cybersecurity company OPSWAT would move its global headquarters to the top floor. Simply Healthcare Plans’ lease is for twice the amount of space as OPSWAT. The building houses a handful of other companies and organizations, including the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority.

“Interest in this office tower has remained robust,” Marc Munago, VanTrust Florida’s executive vice president, said in a statement. “Achieving full occupancy — despite opening its doors less than a year ago — is within reach.”

The building currently has about 33,400 square feet of space open across three floors.
