AL: Aviation Company Hires 50, Opens at Birmingham Airport

Southern Sky Aviation, a full-service aviation company, has announced its opening at the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport.

The company, which was founded by Bill Gunnells, previously the chief executive officer and founder of prescription drug card benefits company RxBenefits, has more than 67,000 square feet of space in two fully refurbished hangars on the East and West ramps of the Birmingham airport.

Southern Sky Aviation offers charter flights, brokerage services, aircraft management, maintenance, avionics and flight training. The company has hired more than 50 employees and plans to continue to hire.
