Rex Signs Engine Deal

June 22, 2021

REX Airlines (RAL) signed an agreement to purchase a CFM56 Engine from MTU Maintenance Lease Services B.V, a subsidiary of MTU Aero Engines, on 21 Jun 2021.

This engine will enhance RAL’s existing capability in maintaining better aircraft supportability for our fleet of Boeing 737-800NG jets. This will be a positive step forward in strengthening RAL’s position in the domestic aviation landscape in Australia. Rex is Australia’s largest independent regional and domestic airline operating a fleet of 60 Saab 340 and four Boeing 737-800NG aircraft to 61 destinations throughout all states in Australia.

In addition to the airline Rex, the Rex Group comprises wholly owned subsidiaries Pel-Air Aviation (air freight, aeromedical and charter operator) and the two pilot academies, Australian Airline Pilot Academy in Wagga Wagga and Ballarat.
