SCOTTSDALE – March 19, 2019 – StandardAero has been selected by Air Senegal to provide a comprehensive range of engine services for its new fleet of ATR 72-600 regional turboprop aircraft.  Under the multi-year contract with the Senegalese flag carrier, StandardAero will provide engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for Air Senegal’s ATR 72-600s from its OEM-authorized Designated Overhaul Facilities (DOFs) in Gonesse, France and Summerside, PE, Canada.

The contract will also see StandardAero provide Air Senegal with a range of rental engine, mobile repair team (MRT), engineering and engine condition trend monitoring (ECTM) support services.  StandardAero is uniquely placed to offer ECTM analysis expertise as both an OEM-approved DOF and a CAMP Systems Designated Analysis Center (DAC).

Commenting on the agreement, Ibrahima Ly, Technical Director of Air Senegal, said:  “This agreement with StandardAero, one of the leading engine MROs, confirms our commitment to ensuring the safety of our customers, while also optimizing our maintenance costs.  We are very pleased to sign this deal, which demonstrates the focus of our CEO Philippe Bohn on promoting operational excellence and safety.”

Peter Turner, President - Airlines & Fleets for StandardAero, added:  “We are proud to have won the confidence of Air Senegal – a new ATR operator with brand new aircraft – to provide engine MRO, engineering and ECTM services for its ATR fleet.  This new contract continues the expansion of our African customer base, and maintains StandardAero’s regional turboprop MRO leadership in the Senegalese market.  We look forward to meeting and exceeding the Air Senegal’s expectations for on-time support over the coming years.”

Created in April 2016 by the Senegalese government as part of the air hub project, Air Senegal SA is a new airline with the privileged status of national flag carrier.  With targets rooted in the Emerging Senegal Plan, Air Senegal SA’s ambition is to make Dakar the first regional air hub and to play a leading role in regional integration in West Africa.  With a mixed fleet of turboprop, single-aisle and high-capacity aircraft, Air Senegal SA will serve domestic, regional and intercontinental networks, with the opening of the Paris–Dakar route in 2018.  For more details visit https://flyairsenegal.com.
