United Turbine has been a leader in Pratt & Whitney PT6 overhaul, repair and parts sales since 1991 and employs 26 full time personnel.

Fairhope, AL, United States, February 2, 2015 – Continental Motors Group Ltd., a wholly owned division of AVIC International Holding Corporation, announced today that its MRO subsidiary, Continental Motors Services, Inc. (CMS),  located in Fairhope, Alabama added turbine overhaul, repair and sales capabilities to its list of services with the acquisition of United Turbine and UT Aeroparts Corporations of Miami, Florida.  The acquisition was completed, including all customary regulatory reviews, on 31 January 2015.

United Turbine has been a leader in Pratt & Whitney PT6 overhaul, repair and parts sales since 1991 and employs 26 full time personnel.  United Turbine operates a similar business to Continental Motors Services but for the turbine aircraft market.  In particular, United Turbine provides turbine aircraft engine and accessory maintenance, repair and overhaul services for US and international markets from its facilities approximately seven miles northwest of the Miami International Airport in Florida.

“We are very excited to add turbine services to our rapidly growing capabilities and delighted to have team members of United Turbine and UT Aeroparts as part of the team. We believe that United Turbine and UT Aeroparts are the perfect partners to aid Continental Motors in expanding into the turbine market.  By combining the skills and capabilities of these companies, we will better serve the needs of the general aviation community,” said Rhett Ross, Vice President, AVIC International and Director, Continental Motors Group.

Gerry Montes, President of United Turbine added, “This is a great opportunity for United Turbine and UT Aeroparts customers to get one-stop shopping for all their aircraft needs backed by an industry leader, Continental Motors.  And for our employees, this represents a great growth opportunity with one of the most exciting OEMs in the industry today.”

The acquisition represents a strategic opportunity for the Continental Motors Group to expand its MRO offerings worldwide through the complementary combination of the existing Continental Motors Services and United Turbine businesses.  CMS plans to maintain the facility and employees at the Miami location.  Specific advantages for customers now include the ability for customers to get engine, avionics and airframe services from one company.  Further, with facilities now on or near three long runway airports, CMS can provide these services with ever increasing geographic flexibility for the customer.
