Davis Junction, IL February 10, 2016 Skandia Inc. has added two Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs) to its Flammability Engineering, Testing and Certification Department.

Mackenzie Kacvinsky, Skandia’s Flammability Department Manager, and Jennifer Asbury, Flammability Supervisor, together bring a quarter century of knowledge and experience. That technical experience and ‘best practices’ approach has culminated with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) granting Ms. Kacvinsky and Asbury the designation of DER.

Skandia has five full-time DERs on staff. “We are growing the on-staff engineering capacity to handle the increasing flow of business coming through our department as well as representing those customers requiring our services under an Organization Designation Authorization (ODA). We are always looking for better ways to serve and make it as convenient as possible for all our customers,” Kacvinsky said.

“We’ve been in constant training for a very long time. It was important to make sure our standards are up to those required by the FAA, our customers and the level of quality Skandia is known for. We finished our testing with the FAA representative and a review by the evaluation panel before the DERs were authorized,” Asbury added. “We’re proud we have more to offer our customers.”

Jarod Triplett, Skandia’s Vice President, in congratulating Kacvinsky and Asbury, said, “It is no small feat and their commitment and pursuit of the DER certification is appreciated by Skandia and all our customer base. Mackenzie and Jennifer continually bring their ‘A’ game in terms of professionalism, service and support.”

The Skandia Flammability Engineering, Testing and Certification Department has seen a surge in customer demand and as a result have increased their capacity to accommodate. “One thing we are looking forward to, is the update of new sonic burner regulations that will be released in the spring,” Kacvinsky said and added, “and to let companies know we are available for their ODA projects.”
