Neal Aviation Receives Garmin’s Highest Award and Expands to a Second Location

Feb. 23, 2021

Neal Aviation achieved Elite Performance and was bestowed a Platinum Dealership Award from Garmin International for the highest level of sales performance, technical expertise, and customer service. Only a select few Garmin dealers worldwide achieve this Platinum Award for Elite Performance.

“We appreciate our partnership with Garmin and are proud to receive this prestigious award. Our longstanding relationship with Garmin spans over a decade when we began installation and custom fabrication of Garmin avionics in aircraft panels. Receiving their Platinum Avionics Dealership Award solidifies our commitment to continued success together. We are honored to be part of an elite group of avionics shops worldwide,” said Garrett Neal, CEO of Neal Aviation.

As one of Southern California’s leading specialty avionics Repair Stations, Neal Aviation has done countless installations for John and Martha King of King Schools, in San Diego, CA. “We have been taking our aircraft to Neal Aviation for several years now. They have solved some difficult avionics problems that have perplexed our team. They have been instrumental in troubleshooting our Falcon 10 and have been consistent and extremely reliable over the years. Avionics are a powerful tool we rely on heavily. It gives Martha and I great comfort to have Neal Aviation’s expertise in this area,” said John King.

Neal Aviation has grown and recently expanded their operation. In October, they relocated into a new 13,000 square foot hangar at Gillespie Field (KSEE) in San Diego County. Their new facility includes custom office suites, extensive parts room, wiring room, fabrication area and adjacent aircraft parking. In the first quarter of 2021, they opened a second Repair Station at Fallbrook Community Airpark (L18) in Fallbrook, CA.

The Fallbrook location is headed by industry veterans Mike Murray and Andy Paterson. Mike grew up the son of a Naval fighter pilot and spent his lifetime in aviation. For 10 years he was a Senior Flight Test Engineer on advanced aircraft at Lockheed, holds and FAA Avionics Repairman Certificate and has over 20 years performing aircraft maintenance and avionics installations. He is an experienced pilot with over 5,000 hours as an ATP and CFI.

With 35 years in auto racing design and engineering, Andy Paterson brings expert sheet metal and composite fabrication to their Fallbrook facility. Andy holds an FAA Avionics Repairman Certificate and brings 15 years in experimental aviation maintenance and assembly.

Neal Aviation’s wider footprint and Garmin Platinum Dealership rating will enable them to better serve the private aviation community in Southern California with avionics sales, modifications, troubleshooting and service.
