Astronautics Completing Follow-On L-100 Avionics Upgrade for Peruvian Air Force

Feb. 11, 2020

Astronautics Corporation of America is completing a follow-on full cockpit modernization of an L-100 transport aircraft for the Peruvian Air Force (FAP). The L-100 is a civil version of the C-130.

Astronautics is the prime contractor for the FAP Avionics Upgrade Program (AUP). The company is updating the L-100 with its Badger integrated flight display system, providing an integrated glass cockpit designed to maximize crew situational awareness with digital interfaces and displays, enhanced functionality, and additional safety features which provide information such as traffic, terrain, and weather.

The Badger integrated flight display system includes six 6×8-inch electronic flight instrument/engine instrument and caution advisory system displays with dual engine data concentrator units.

As part of the AUP, Astronautics is leading the systems integration of the flight management system, global positioning system, and autopilot/flight director from other suppliers, along with a complete suite of navigation and communication radios.

Astronautics is further supporting the FAP with technician training, assistance with flight test, and program architecture and documentation.

“Our customers rely on Astronautics’ proven experience with complete cockpit modernizations to provide reliable, affordable solutions that enhance situational awareness and safety for their fleets,” said Astronautics President Chad Cundiff.
