Chippewa Aerospace Announces New STCs
Conway, South Carolina: Chippewa Aerospace Inc. (CAI) has recently achieved several STCs in relation to the impending 2020 mandate for ADS-B out. CAI successfully certified the Honeywell ADS-B out solution in the ERJ 135/145 in June 2014. In addition, CAI also certified WAAS/LPV in the ERJ-135/145. In 2017, CAI has recently extended the ADS-B and WAAS/LPV solution to the E170/175/190, with an anticipated STC by February 2017 in the Canadair Regional Jet series.
The CAI EMB 135/145 ADS-B out and WAAS/LPV solution has been in service since 2014. The ADS-B Out solution upgrades the RCZ-833 Integrated Radio Units, the RM-855 Radio Management Units, and the GNSSU’s if not previously accomplished. The WAAS/LPV solution upgrades the GC-550 Flight Guidance Panel and the IC-600 Integrated Computers to add the LPV and VNAV functionality.
