Rockwell Collins issued the following news release:

Rockwell Collins' Venue(TM), the leading cabin management and HD entertainment system for business aircraft with more than 140 installations, will be installed by Jet Aviation St. Louis for the first time on a Bombardier Global Express XRS. The work will be completed during a major overhaul event.

"This aircraft will undergo its 8C inspection and the client has elected to refurbish the interior, paint the aircraft and have the Venue system installed in conjunction with the inspection," said David Loso, avionics sales manager, Jet Aviation St. Louis. "A significant maintenance event like this is an ideal time for a Venue installation because it provides interior access and saves overall downtime."

"Venue is the ideal solution to meet the high-end cabin requirement that a Global operator expects," said Dave Austin, vice president and general manager, Cabin Systems for Rockwell Collins. "Not only is high definition desired, but operators want a reliable cabin system that is built to meet today's needs and architected to enable future insertion of new technologies."

The Venue HD retrofit by Jet Aviation St. Louis includes:

* Intuitive 10.6" HD touch-screen displays in the cabin and galley. The cabin monitors allows passengers to easily control cabin functions and view entertainment right from their seat including the ability to interact with Rockwell Collins' Airshow(R) Moving Map. Flight attendants can also easily manage Venue's entertainment and environmental settings on the galley monitor.

* An easy-to-use 4" personal touch-screen programmable switch panel. Passengers can control the cabin environmental functions and access audio/video content with simple swipes. The user role can be dynamically changed on the fly to function as standard or VIP. When idle, it can display flight information such as time to destination and local time.

* Audio video on demand (AVOD) system. This new offering with Venue allows content to be loaded and accessed by multiple displays within the cabin so multiple passengers can view the same video or listen to the same song simultaneously or at individual paces. The AVOD application also supports selection and playback of video on Venue bulkhead displays.

Venue is the industry's first complete, HD cabin management system for business aircraft that includes the features and functionality of the most advanced home entertainment systems and executive suites. Learn more about Venue here: http://www.rockwellcollins.com/venue/.
