United States Brings Largest International Contingent to Singapore Airshow 2022

Feb. 14, 2022
More than 100 American exhibitors are expected, filling over 30% of indoor exhibit space with a majority within the USA Partnership Pavilion.

If the Singapore Airshow reflects the leading edge of the aerospace & defense marketplace in southeast Asia, the U.S. contingent at this year’s show leaves no doubt that America intends to expand its role as one of the region’s leading A&D suppliers.

With over 100 companies signed up to exhibit, 11 military and commercial static aircraft on display and a slew of high-ranking government, military and industry leaders walking the aisles of the Changi Airport show site Feb. 15-18, the United States for the fourth edition in a row will present more on the floor than any country outside of Singapore.

“The perennially strong American showing at this event is a clear indication of how important the Indo-Pacific region is to the U.S. aerospace and defense industry, and that countries across the region are looking to the United States for innovative, competitive solutions and partners,” said Tom Kallman, president and CEO of Kallman Worldwide, Inc. The company has represented the Singapore Airshow in the United States since 2008.

The Singapore Airshow is the region’s largest and most diversified aerospace and defense business gathering. In 2020, it drew close to 30,000 trade visitors and 1,000 exhibitors from more than 110 countries.

America’s headquarters on-site is the USA Partnership Pavilion, organized by Kallman in coordination with numerous government agencies, including the departments of Commerce, Defense, State and Transportation. It’s an efficient location for buyers to meet more U.S. suppliers, a professional business center for U.S. exhibitors to maximize their exposure and impact on-site and a forum for all to share ideas and insights.

This year’s Pavilion roster lists 64 exhibitors including 11 that are new to the show. A total of 21 states are represented, including six stand-alone state pavilions — Arizona, California, Idaho, Kansas, New Hampshire, and Oregon — within the larger U.S. space.

“Now more than ever, success in international trade comes from partnership and teamwork. The USA Partnership Pavilion sharpens our focus on helping advance America’s national interests and security by building stronger relationships with our international customers,” said Kallman. “Many of our exhibitors — from publicly traded stalwarts such as L3Harris, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon to small and medium-sized enterprises with fewer than 500 employees — already have significant partnerships and operations in the Indo-Pacific region. In the years to come, many more will.”

Scholarships

To spotlight the strong alliance between the United States and Singapore, the Pavilion will announce the Astronaut Al Worden Endeavour Scholarship Singapore Award winners this week. The four students and their educator will be the second mission team selected from Singapore. The first was announced during the Singapore Air Show in 2020. This nation-to-nation program, launched in June 2019 inspires young people to pursue their dreams through STEM education. Scholarships pay for select students and educators from international airshow communities to experience a week of astronaut training at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center’s Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama.

Expanded Pavilion

For those on the go, whether they are attending the show or not, Kallman presents the USA Partnership Pavilion Interactive Directory at Singapore Airshow 2022 powered by the Global Aerospace & Defense Showcase. This directory features a searchable Pavilion directory, news headlines and downloadable images for professional reference and media reporting.

The Global Aerospace Showcase is already providing more than 1,700 aerospace and defense professionals an industry-specific digital marketplace, purpose-built to facilitate commerce and trade. Over 69% of Showcase Visitors are actively involved in their companies' purchasing or procurement process. The Showcase is a community made up of US exporting companies, global visitors, associations, NGOs, government organizations, SME resources and State/Regional Economic Development Offices.
