New Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation Video Debuts at Living Legends of Aviation 2020

Jan. 21, 2020

The Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation was proud to play a visible role at the 2020 Living Legends of Aviation (LLoA) Gala at the Beverly Hilton in Southern California. Designed to celebrate the best of the aviation community, as well as our very best aviators, the late Bob Hoover was a regular feature and honored guest of the LLoA event until his passing in 2016.

A new video, signaling the aggressive efforts of the foundation he created, has been produced to craft a proper basis and awareness in the aviation world for the great works to come.

BHLF Board member, James G Kidrick, noted that, “The Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation team appreciates their partnership with the Living Legends of Aviation, ensuring Bob’s goals to positively impact the future of aviation are achieved. Displaying the Foundation’s information video was a significant step towards assembling the right team members; for those who knew Bob it reminded them of his greatness and for those who didn’t it provided an insight to what greatness can be. Our goal is to positively impact the future of aviation using Bob as THE metaphor…he set the standard for others to emulate…as his legacy is impeccably worthy of our efforts.”

In addition to defining some of the many mission goals of the BHLF, the video was introduced by Aviation Commentator and Host, Danny Clisham. The video notes the upcoming Senate Resolution promised by Oklahoma Senator James Inhofe that will mandate the creation of a Commemorative Stamp on, or before, what would have been Bob’s 100th Birthday in 2022.

Mr. Clisham, one of the most sought-after airshow announcers and narrators in the aviation world, thought the BHLF 2020 video was of “very high quality… and blended well with the mission of the evening.”

Clisham stressed that the Living Legends event is conducted to support LLoA’s Kiddie Hawk youth programs, and that such efforts were near and dear to Mr. Hoover’s heart.

“It was introduced into an audience of people who are focused on the future of aviation and many of them are recipients of various Living Legends awards... it was an audience who not only understood Bob Hoover and his life of service to aviation, many of whom were friends of his, and so they understood the importance of his quest for excellence. It was wonderful to see such a positive reception for the Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation,” remarked Clisham.

The Foundation’s purpose is to perpetuate Bob’s dedication to excellence, integrity, learning and mentorship that drove his fabled aviation career by financially supporting educational institutions and to inspire the next generation of American aviation leadership. The Foundation is a 501C3 tax deductible organization.

The Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation supports educational development and mentoring to people of all ages who are pursuing careers in aviation and aerospace. Through accredited institutions of higher education, the foundation will provide scholarships to deserving people who exhibit qualities representing the intellect, drive and generosity representative of future leaders.

The Foundation is led by President Tracy Forrest, and Chairman Michael Herman, who work alongside fellow Board of Director members, George Gould, Brian Cochran, Joan Cochran, James G. Kidrick, and Rich Pickett.

In addition to financial scholarships, Bob’s wish was that the Foundation provide enhanced safety training, mentoring and networking opportunities and remains dedicated to partnering with other aviation/aerospace organizations adhering to the same basic precepts.
