WAI Statement Supporting WASP Burial in Arlington National Cemetery

WAI supports all efforts to allow Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) to be buried in Arlington National Cemetery, or any military cemetery of the surviving family’s choice that is available to other military service personnel.

January 7, 2016 - As president of Women in Aviation International, I strongly support all efforts to allow Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) to be buried in Arlington National Cemetery, or any military cemetery of the surviving family’s choice that is available to other military service personnel.

The WASP honorably served their country. We urge everyone to visit change.org and sign the Harmon Family petition on behalf of all WASP. Currently more than 33,000 individuals have signed this petition.

In addition, I support all efforts to ensure that the WASP receive any other veteran benefits that other service personnel receive.
