Formerly owned by Blue Green Technology, Vigiplane has been acquired by the French MRO & VIP completion service provider, Sabena technics. Using the latest technologies, the device guarantees 24/7 monitoring of the aircraft on ground and protects it from a variety of risks.

“Vigiplane is a smart and innovative solution that answers the growing demand for protection of aircraft on ground”, said Fred Saubade, former CEO of Blue Green Technology and designer of Vigiplane. “We are very excited by this new challenge. By integrating Sabena technics Group, we want to provide our customers with a new dimension of business service, technical support and aeronautic credibility, essential for our international development”, he added.

The device, which operates autonomously from the aircraft systems and does not require certification, can detect whether any attempt has been made to get into the aircraft or interfere with it.

“We are always looking to bring innovations to our customers and what we have learned as a key player in the aviation industry is how much safety is essential. With Vigiplane, we strive to reach the next level of safety allowing our customers to keep an eye on their aircraft at all time”, said Philippe Rochet, Chief Operating Officer of Sabena technics.

By acquiring this device, Sabena technics adds to its existing solutions a cutting-edge technology available for all their customers.

The Vigiplane will be showcased at the Paris Airshow on Sabena technics’ booth – Hall 2A- C280

Founded in 1968, Sabena technics is a leading independent MRO (maintenance, repair & overhaul) provider of services to civil and military aircraft operators. The Group employs over 2,500 persons across its 15 sites worldwide.

Its services are organized into product lines: Airframe services, VIP completion, Component services, Integrated services, Military services and Training services, based on the basic principle of meeting its customers’ requirements.
