AUGUSTA, Kan. - December, 2013  -GlobalParts.aero, the Augusta, Kan.-based provider of aftermarket parts and services, has teamed with the Edith Sanford Breast Cancer Foundation in the fight against breast cancer.

In October, GlobalParts.aero used its presence at the National Business Aviation Association’s Annual Meeting and Convention in Las Vegas to make a significant contribution to breast cancer research.

Visitors to the GlobalParts.aero booth were asked to spend a couple of minutes filling out a survey regarding the company’s parts distribution and build-to-print manufacturing capabilities. For each person who completed a survey, GlobalParts.aero contributed a specific amount to breast cancer research. “This is a cause that hits close to home,” said Malissa Nesmith, Chief Operating Officer of GlobalParts.aero. “A member of the GlobalParts.aero family has been personally affected by this and luckily his wife is still in remission,” added Nesmith.

According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer causes nearly 40,000 deaths each year. A significant number of these fatalities could be prevented by research breakthroughs, some of which may be right around the corner. The $12,800 donated by GlobalParts.aero will benefit the Edith Sanford Breast Cancer Foundation, whose mission is to unlock each woman's genetic code, advance prevention and treatment, and end breast cancer for future generations.

“Edith Sanford is proud to partner with Global Parts in advancing our mission to end breast cancer,” said Kimberly Simpson, president of the Edith Sanford Breast Cancer Foundation. “We are grateful for their support of the Foundation’s bold approach of advancing prevention and treatment through innovative genomics research.”
