PARIS, France (June 17, 2013) Kaman Corporation (Paris Air Show Exhibit Hall 3, D118) continues to expand its international aerospace footprint, today announcing construction of two large European manufacturing facilities in Germany and the United Kingdom.

A new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Höchstadt, Germany, will replace an existing site in Dachsbach, doubling the capacity of Kaman Specialty Bearings & Engineered Products when it becomes fully operational in 2014. The expansion will accommodate Kaman’s RWG business, which designs and manufactures flight-critical parts for aircraft, including bushings, metal-to-metal sphericals, self-lubricating bearings (Fraslip), and rolling element bearings.

At the same time, Kaman UK is relocating its Tooling Division to a purpose-built facility in Burnley that features the most advanced equipment and has been designated a Tooling Centre of Excellence. The significantly larger site is set to open this fall and has been designed to meet the increased size and technology requirements of modern aircraft assembly tooling. It’s part of an ongoing investment in the United Kingdom that has created nearly 100 jobs in the last two years.

Both businesses are divisions of Kaman Aerospace Group, a rapidly growing business that offers a wide array of capabilities that range from design and testing to tooling and manufacturing. OEMs and other aerospace and defense enterprises in need of a fully capable, proven and reliable outsourcing resource turn to Kaman Aerospace as a highly experienced and capable “concept to completion” design/build risk-sharing partner.
