Principato Applauds Senate Committee Action On Huerta's Nomination

July 31, 2012

The following information was released by the Airports Council International - North America:

Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) President Greg Principato issued the following statement in response to the Senate Commerce Committees vote this afternoon to report out Michael Huerta's nomination to be Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA):

I applaud the Committees decision to move Acting Administrator Huerta's nomination forward, and hope the full Senate will quickly follow their lead.

The national aviation system is a key driver for the US economy. Given the challenging fiscal times facing our country and our industry, we need a full time administrator who can dedicate the next five years to working with all the stakeholders to create a national aviation policy that will ensure we remain both an economic engine for the country and be globally competitive well into the 21st century.
