Denver International Airport (DEN) is seeking young aviators interested in discovering the world of aviation. Through DEN Academy, students entering 7th through 10th grade this fall will receive an introduction to the world of aviation through interactive learning, critical thinking and projects. Participating students will get an inside look at the airport through virtual presentations from DEN professionals and virtual tours. In-person tours are also optional for students.
What students can expect to learn:
- Engage with professionals in: construction, sustainability, concessions, emergency management, operations, art and more.
- Acquire knowledge of the inner workings of an airport and specific career paths found at DEN.
- Gain an awareness of aviation through direct learning and exploratory activities.
- Develop problem-solving skills while exploring real aviation challenges.
- Lessons combine Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) disciplines for continued educational development.
- Map out potential steps in reaching future careers goals through leadership and development opportunities.
DEN Academy will be held once a week for two hours on Thursdays, June 16 through July 14.
