A new ownership group and management team is in place at RexAir, an established provider of general aviation flight training and maintenance services in Naples, Florida.

CEO Keith West has taken up residence among the flight instructors and clients located in the flight training hangars and offices at 304 Citation Point, on the north side of Naples Airport. Inspections, repairs, alterations and maintenance operations are based on the east side of the field at 200 Aviation Drive, where Chief of Maintenance Doug Cramer presides over the day-to-day activities.

Keith West is a former U.S. Naval Aviator who graduated the Naval Academy at Annapolis. After flying A-6 Intruders in active service, West managed the flight training department at Heart of Virginia Aviation prior to moving into a position as the senior director for Flight School Business at AOPA.

Doug Cramer’s career included a 25-year stint at Bell Industries in Richmond, Virginia, where he served as senior vice president of service delivery. Following his retirement from Bell, Cramer found himself managing the maintenance department at Heart of Virginia Aviation, where he and West met.

“My first job was as a line boy at a local flight school,” West said. “It’s been a lifelong dream to own and manage my own flight school. And to do it here in Naples, Florida…well, that’s just icing on the cake.”

West sees RexAir’s position as a provider of piston-engine services at Naples to be a critical element of success for the company, the airport and the community as a whole.

“We are committed to helping ensure the safety and success of our clients,” West said. “We look forward to being a big part of making those successful outcomes a daily occurrence here in Naples.”
