The group of Delta employees will provide an industry overview, answer attendee questions and discuss their own careers in aviation.

The B747 FareWelcome Riders will be visiting the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics Myrtle Beach Campus on October 3rd at 1:00 PM to meet with PIA students who are interested in entering the aviation industry. The group of Delta employees will provide an industry overview, answer attendee questions, and discuss their own careers in aviation.

The B747 FareWelcome Riders, Inc. is an Atlanta-based 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization comprised of Delta Air Lines aircraft maintenance technicians (AMTs) who share a mutual love of both aviation and motorcycles. The group organizes fundraising rides, through which they visit AMT schools who are partnered with Delta Air Lines and share their expertise with the next generation of aviation professionals. Their 2019 “Whale of a Ride” fundraiser will benefit the Delta Heritage Museum, which preserves aviation history, and the Delta Scholarship Fund, which helps provide tuition assistance for qualified technical school applicants.

“These campus visits are a great opportunity for candidates who are interested in careers in the aviation field to meet experienced industry personnel” says Richard Moreau, president and co-founding member of the B747 Fare Welcome Riders. “Through our presentations and the Q&A sessions that follow, we provide a real-world overview of how jobs in aviation work, discuss the benefits and challenges of careers in the industry, and offer our own personal experiences and advice. The candidates we’ve met during these visits have appreciated the chance to have an honest and informative dialogue about their professional futures.”
