HARLEYSVILLE, PA – AMETEK PDS is now a proud sponsor of the non-profit organization Able Flight, which provides people with disabilities the unique opportunity to fulfill flight and aviation training to gain greater self-confidence and self-reliance. Many of the candidates receiving scholarships are former members of the military who have been wounded in battle, including Lt. Andrew Kinard of the U.S. Marines (pictured), who lost both of his legs after an IED incident during his 2007 tour in Iraq.
Able Flight has awarded more than 100 scholarships since starting in 2006 through numerous training partners, such as Purdue University and Ohio State University, as well as sponsors, such as Lockheed Martin, Embraer, Shell Aviation and AMETEK PDS.

In addition to financial support, PDS Regional Sales Manager Kevin Rodgers serves on the Able Flight Advisory Board and participates in the process for selecting who receives the scholarship.
