Sanford, FL – December 15, 2017 - Avocet Aviation Services received overwhelming interest from students and their families during its participation in Aviation Day, an annual event presented by the Orlando-Sanford International Airport. More than 1,500 Seminole County students and their families turned out for the one-day event designed to inspire young people to pursue careers in the industry – from piloting to avionics - and give them an opportunity to explore the many pathways to a career in aviation.

As part of its presentation to students, Jonathan Rosado Berrios and Justin Pumphrey, two Avocet Aviation Aircraft Maintenance Technicians, helped bring to life what it is like to work on a real aircraft. The opportunity to tour an actual Boeing 737-400 inside and out; see the inner workings of a real CFM aircraft engine; and spend one-on-one time speaking with field specialists Berrios and Pumphrey, helped inspire a number of young people who inquired about future career and apprenticeship opportunities, hangar tours, and more with the company.

The onsite Avocet Aviation team enjoyed spending time with the students and young people in attendance, inspiring them to consider aviation as an exciting and well-paying career choice. As a company, Avocet Aviation believes it is their responsibility to do everything they can to foster, encourage and attract the next generation of bright, innovative minds to fill the engineering, technician, mechanic and other specialist field positions of tomorrow. Aviation Day took place on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Orlando Sanford International Airport.
