TEC, aerospace and defence quality specialist, has announced 20 new training courses for 2015.
Past delegates have come from many primes and their supply chains including: GE Aviation, UTC Aerospace Systems, Darchem, Meggitt, Lufthansa, B/E Aerospace, Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems, Babcock, and AugustaWestland.
Mick Ball, from PS Marsden, on the QMS Lead Auditor training: “The team made the whole process of booking easy and there was plenty of advice given leading up to the course. It was enjoyable while being very intense and brain blowing at times. An awful lot of information into, what seemed like, a very short time frame.”
Dr David Scrimshire, director of TEC, said: “We are pleased that our courses are helping the staff of many aerospace companies improve their processes and systems and that we recently put through our 600th delegate. 2015 promises to be a fantastic year for the industry provided employees have the right skills and knowledge. We aim to play our part in increasing those skills and knowledge.”
The courses include:
Practical Corrective Action for Managers
This unique course is currently being offered as an ‘on-site’ event for up to 10 people. By the end of the 1-day interactive course and workshop management team members will be able to:
- resolve NCRs (nonconformity reports) in an efficient and effective manner
- understand how to monitor and ‘actively manage’ both QMS and process-level performance (PEARs)
Aerospace APQP & PPAP (AS9145)
By the end of this 2-day interactive course and workshop participants will be able to implement and operate an effective New Product Introduction process incorporating Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Product Approval Process (PPAP) for the Aviation, Space and Defence sectors in line with AS9145.
The course includes Project Management to conform to the fundamental requirements of AS/EN91XX:2009 and contractual requirements now being imposed by the global Primes. Mandatory requirements included in AS/EN9102:2004 and AS/EN9103:2012 are also addressed.
Risk Management & FMEA
By the end of this 2-day interactive course and workshop participants will understand the principles and practices of risk management and be able to undertake practical Process and Design PFMEAs.
Capability studies & SPC (AS9103)
This ‘hands-on’ 2-day course and workshop is intended for a broad audience of quality engineers, quality professionals, inspectors, manufacturing engineers and other staff who have to meet the requirements of AS9103 and undertake capability studies and run SPC on a routine basis.
The course uses worked examples and workshops to accelerate learning and ensure that participants know how to undertake process capability studies and operate SPC in a practical manner.
First Article Inspection (AS9102)
This practical and interactive 2-day training session is intended for a broad audience of quality engineers, quality professionals, inspectors, manufacturing engineers/managers and other staff who have to implement FAI/LAI in conformance with AS9102. The objective is to explain the requirements of AS9102, demonstrate how to complete the associated forms through practical illustrations, and show how to conduct AS9102 internal and supplier audits.
MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis)
By the end of this interactive course and workshop participants will understand the nature and types of variation present in shop-floor gauges and be able to conduct MSA/MSE (measurement system analysis/evaluation) studies on variable and attribute gauges (i.e. gauge R&R studies).
Root Cause Corrective Action (Disciplined Problem Solving)
The purpose of this practical and ‘hands-on’ on-site 2-day course and workshop is to explain the principles and practices of undertaking RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action). The applications targeted include –
- product conformity
- delivery performance
- quality management system nonconformances
- special processes nonconformances
- process- and company-level (SC21) performance variances
The modern and disciplined problem solving methodologies adopted are highly applicable to the aerospace and defence industries and have particular relevance to the stringent demands of AS9100, Nadcap (special processes) and the Delivery & Quality performance metrics of SC21.
QMS Lead Auditor based on AS9100
This highly interactive IRCA-approved 5-day course is not only to teach how perform professional and value-adding audits in the aerospace/defence sectors, but also how to develop a wider understanding of modern (process-based) quality management system design and implementation.
AS91XX Internal Auditor Training
This is a 2-day practical AS9100 Internal Auditor Training course to learn how to plan and undertake AS/EN9100, 9110 and 9120 internal and supplier audits using a ‘process-based approach’ – in the same way as Certification Bodies.
TEC's international qualifications
TEC’s tried-and-tested 2-day on-site practical courses and hands-on workshops address all of the 'power tools' to meet the increasing demand by customers that their suppliers use:
- structured problem solving (i.e. RCCA, 8-D, A3, etc.) to address CARs and complaints
- capability studies (Cpk) and SPC for managing KCs (key characteristics)
- risk management & FMEAs for analysing and mitigating product and process risks
- NPI (APQP) to formalise the steps involved in launching a new product
- MSA (Gauge R & R) studies to confirm the acceptability of gauging systems
Practical Corrective Action for Managers
TEC are an internationally certified Training Provider and hold training course approvals from the following sources:
- IAQG (International Aerospace Quality Group)
- IRCA (International Register of Certified Auditors)
- MoD (ELCAS)
