Aims Community College to Host Aviation Day on Aug. 12 in Loveland

The college's aviation team will have aircraft on display. Attendees may also experience the new Aims' mobile aviation lab with virtual reality flight simulators, an air traffic control simulation, drones and STEM-related activities.

Jul. 13—Aims Community College will host an Aviation Day on Saturday, Aug. 12 at the college's flight training center in Loveland.

The day will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 6350 Aviation Circle in Loveland.

Aviation Day is free, family-friendly and includes demonstrations from Aims' aviation program, games and activities.

The college's aviation team will have aircraft on display. Attendees may also experience the new Aims' mobile aviation lab with virtual reality flight simulators, an air traffic control simulation, drones and STEM-related activities.

More than 20 vendors will attend including representatives from major airlines and the Colorado Division of Aeronautics.

Food trucks will also be available.

Airplane rides will be offered for $45 per person with sign-up in advance online at events.aims.edu/event/aims_aviation_day_5667.

Guests may select a two-hour window for the flight. Flight times are estimates only. A maximum of three people are allowed on a flight, and flights are contingent upon the weather. Proceeds from the flights will be donated to a scholarship fund for future Aims aviation students.
