The Maryland Board of Public Works today approved a contract to modernize and expand public restrooms in Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.
Major restroom enhancements will boost passenger experience.

Development on a 27-acre site will include a hangar to accommodate up to three Boeing 737 aircrafts and apron space to accommodate up to eight Southwest Airlines jets, along with associated office and workshop space. The maintenance facility cost is estimated $135 million, which includes an investment of about $90 million from the airline.
Construction at BWI-Thurgood Marshall Airport could begin as soon as October.
Service will include two roundtrip flights per week beginning Sept. 2.
