1,700 Aviation and Aerospace Professionals convene for OBAP’s National Convention

The Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals hosts 43rd Annual Convention and Career Exposition, July 31st – August 2nd, sponsored by 16 airline carriers.

The three-day aerospace conference consists of workshops, training, notable speakers, networking opportunities and one of the largest aviation career fairs nationwide. To increase minority participation in future aerospace careers the organization will also host a free Aerospace Youth Day, co-sponsored by Alaska Airlines, Horizon Air and the U.S. Air Force, and welcome 200 Los Angeles area students.

The Career Exposition, opening July 31 at 11 a.m., will host more than 1,700 aviation professionals and recruiters from 58 participating companies; Amazon Air, American Airlines, the Federal Aviation Administration, FedEx Express, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, UPS and Walmart Aviation to name a few.

Additional convention highlights include the Founders and Pioneers Breakfast, August 1st at 8:00 a.m., which will induct six individuals into the OBAP Hall of Fame including Lieutenant Colonel Marcella Ann Ng, the first African American woman pilot in the United States Armed Forces.

The Corporate Luncheon and Strategic Industry Symposium, August 2nd at 11:30 a.m. with industry experts like Bryan Quigley, SVP flight operations, United Airlines and Dr. Armond Sinclair, vehicle engineering directorate ADM, Northrop Grumman.
