POSITION: Aviation Maintenance Instructor LOCATION: Aviation Technology SALARY: $48,242 -- $52,200 L1/0 – L1/4 (DOE) OPENING: February 22, 2016 CLOSING: 12:00 PM Friday, March 18, 2016

NOTEThis position is funded through an external grant.  Continued employment beyond the fiscal year is contingent upon continued funding.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a twelve month non regular non- tenure-track faculty position that reports to the Director of Aviation Programs.  This individual will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: teaching aircraft systems under FAA Part 147, preparing of lesson plans and syllabi, visual aids, use Power Point in presentations; maintaining and repairing equipment, tools and labs.  Participate on various advisory boards, serve on college committees, and perform other duties as assigned or deemed necessary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Associate degree in aviation maintenance or a related field; A&P certification required, two years of teaching and /or three years of industry field experience.  Applicants chosen for interviews will be required to present a brief teaching simulation before the search committee.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor or Master’s degree preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:  Work is done both indoors and outdoors, requires lifting up to 80 pounds, carrying objects of up to 50 pounds.  Work performed indoors is performed in a non-smoking facility.
