Provincetown Airport Extends Closure to May 8
PROVINCETOWN — The temporary closure of Provincetown Municipal Airport will be extended to May 8.
The airport was closed April 1 for mandated taxiway improvement work and was slated to reopen May 1. But now, as a result of extra work needed for environmental issues, the airport will stay closed for an extra week.
The project will continue into June, but the airport will reopen for flights May 9.
"Completing this project now allows us to access Federal and State transportation funds which means we can efficiently and cost-effectively improve the airport and ensure passengers safety, which is good for the town, the whole Outer Cape and our visitors," according to a statement from the town.
