An automated distributed radar/optic sensor system for high-resolution and high-speed detection of FOD. The system consists of sensors mounted on airfield edge lights along travel surfaces, intersections, or other FOD hot-spots. It includes database/statistical analysis and an 'ascription' feature automatically identifying FOD's origin for notification, investigation, and prevention. The system meets with FAA AC-150/ 5220-24 specifications.
