San Antonio International Airport (SAT) is starting the new year with a new record: 2024 is officially SAT’s busiest year ever. For the first time, more than 11 million passengers flew through SAT. With a total of 11,094,278 passengers, this is nearly 4 percent higher than the previous record of 10,676,570 set in 2023.
“SAT recovered quicker than many airports from the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Jesus Saenz, Director of Aviation, City of San Antonio. “Starting in 2023, we began to set monthly passenger records. That momentum carried into 2024, bringing another historic milestone for SAT and breaking the 11 million passenger mark for the first time. We announced many new routes domestically and internationally. Now we’ll set our sights on exceeding another goal.”

“We are thrilled to hit these milestones at SAT and couldn’t have done it without our airline partners,” said Jacob Tyler, Air Service Administrator for the City of San Antonio’s Aviation Department. “We continue to work hard in collaboration with airlines to grow nonstop service from SAT. Continuing to choose to fly from SAT shows the airlines that San Antonio is a place they should be investing their aircraft.”
