San José Mineta International Airport (SJC) is excited to announce that its newest airline partner, Spirit Airlines, will add three new nonstop destinations from SJC this summer with the launch of flights to Los Angeles (LAX); Portland, Oregon (PDX); and Baltimore - Washington (BWI). Spirit’s service to these three new destinations comes alongside increased service to Las Vegas (LAS) and San Diego (SAN) already planned for this summer.
“I’m thrilled to see Spirit expand their offerings out of San José to some of our country’s major metro areas,” San José Mayor Matt Mahan said. “Low-cost carriers like Spirit help everyone, no matter their income level, have the opportunity to visit family, explore new cultures and broaden their perspectives.”

This provides the traveling public and our community with more flight options and continuing SJC’s “spirit” of flying simple by offering more affordable direct flights,” said San José City Manager Jennifer Maguire.
Spirit Airlines New Routes at SJC:
Los Angeles (LAX): Two daily flights beginning June 5, 2024
Portland (PDX): One daily flight beginning June 5, 2024
Baltimore-Washington (BWI): Four weekly flight beginning June 5, 2024

Spirit’s new service between SJC and BWI marks the return of a route that was last flown by Southwest Airlines in 2019. Spirit’s Los Angeles (LAX) and Portland (PDX) flights will complement the existing nonstop service offered by other carriers at SJC. Spirit Airlines began its operations at SJC in June 2023 as the Airport’s only domestic Ultra Low-Cost Carrier.
