The Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission Names Shaun Cookson, C.M., as Manager of Security and Operations

The Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission has named Shaun Cookson, C.M., as Manager of Security and Operations for Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport (LIT). In this position, Mr. Cookson will direct employees engaged in all aspects of airside operation. He will also ensure the Airport complies with TSA and FAR Part 139 regulations at all times and will serve as the primary contact for all security activities. He began his new position on June 5, 2023.

Mr. Cookson most recently served as Airport Superintendent of Operations for Southwest Georgia Regional Airport where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the airport. In that position, he managed the operations and maintenance staff, as well as Airport Rescue and Firefighting and Law Enforcement personnel. Previously, he worked for San Angelo Regional Airport – Mathis Field as Deputy Airport Director and for Gulfport-Biloxi Regional Airport Authority as Airport Operations Supervisor.

Mr. Cookson graduated from Cedarville University with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He went on to receive his master’s degree from Oklahoma State University in Aviation and Space. He is a Certified Member (C.M.) of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).
