Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport Appoints Jacob Simpson as Assistant Director of Operations & Maintenance

Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) has named Jacob Simpson as assistant director of operations & maintenance. In this role, he will direct the operations and maintenance for BZN. Simpson will serve as the subject matter and technical expert on airport operations, responsible for the execution of the airport’s emergency plan 1. He will also work with operations and aircraft rescue and fire fighting teams to plan emergency drills for the airport. He will begin his position on July 11, 2022.

With over 15 years of operations and management experience at both large hub and general aviation airports, Mr. Simpson most recently was the airport emergency operations manager for Denver International Airport. In that position, he was responsible for managing all events that impacted the airport’s passenger and traffic flow. As part of the emergency management team, he was also responsible for activating and managing the Emergency Operations Center. Mr. Simpson has also worked for Centennial Airport in the operations division.

Mr. Simpson earned his bachelor’s degree in aviation management from the University of Alaska. He is a Certified Member (C.M.) of the American Association of Airport Executives.
