Airline positioned for further MKE growth later this year.

Sun Country Airlines launched its new nonstop service from Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport on Aug. 26. The airline offers weekly flights every Thursday to Las Vegas and every Saturday to Minneapolis.

“The addition of Sun Country gives Milwaukee travelers another option to head west, whether that’s to Nevada or to Minnesota,” Airport Director Brian Dranzik said. “With affordable fares and nonstop flights, Sun Country gives travelers more reasons to support our hometown by flying from our community’s airport.”

Sun Country will add more destinations from MKE later this year, when nonstop flights to Fort Myers, Florida; Phoenix, Arizona; and Cancun, Mexico start in December.

“We are happy to offer folks in Milwaukee our low fares and more flexibility as they plan their next nonstop trip to Las Vegas or the Twin Cities. We know many of our Minnesota customers have friends and family in Wisconsin, and we look forward to making it even easier for them to travel between Minneapolis-St. Paul and Milwaukee,” said Brian Davis, Sun Country Airlines chief marketing officer.

Sun Country is based in Minneapolis and operates a fleet of Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
