Sylvia Palmer Joins ACC as Director, Regulatory Affairs

The Airport Consultants Council (ACC) is pleased to announce that Sylvia Palmer has joined the ACC staff as Director, Regulatory Affairs, effective Jan. 13. In her role at ACC, Sylvia will lead the organization’s engagement on regulatory and technical issues that are critical to the airport development industry. She will work closely with ACC committees and help advance the new ACC Strategic Plan, including serving point on trends and technologies that will impact aviation and airport facilities.

"Sylvia has excellent experience interfacing with regulatory agencies on a number of complicated technical issues,” said ACC President T.J. Schulz. “She will bring new perspectives and excellent customer service to ACC and our membership. We are extremely pleased to welcome Sylvia to ACC.”

Sylvia has extensive experience in regulatory affairs and associations. Prior to joining ACC, she managed regulatory initiatives and environmental health and safety compliance in various industries, while fostering strong partnerships between policy makers and stakeholders at all levels. She directed the development and execution of robust advocacy on emerging issues at two chemical-related trade associations in Washington DC, providing leadership for attaining compliance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations. Sylvia has also managed Environmental Health and Safety affairs for chemical distribution facilities in 10 Midwest states as well as Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulatory matters for a pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturer.
