Carrier now offers flights to four main Hawaiian islands.

Southwest Airlines launches nonstop flights to Lihue, Kauai (LIH) and Kona (KOA), on the Island of Hawaii, from Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) on Jan.19 and Jan. 21, respectively. With the addition of these two destinations, Southwest now offers nonstop service from San Jose to all four main islands in Hawaii. Southwest will operate B737-800 aircraft on the two new routes. Flight details and bookings are now available on Southwest.com/Hawaii

“The Hawaiian Islands continue to be an in-demand destination year-round from Silicon Valley, and we are pleased that Southwest Airlines has responded by adding service to meet our community’s needs,” said SJC’s Director of Aviation John Aitken. “Kauai and the Big Island of Hawaii are popular leisure destinations and are now more accessible through Southwest’s competitive fares and excellent service levels.”

Lihue flights are offered initially four days per week (on Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun) with Kona service offered thrice-weekly (on Tue/Thu/Sat). Both flights will be offered daily beginning the first week of March for the peak-summer season ahead. These new flights are in addition to Southwest’s existing daily, nonstop flights between SJC and both Honolulu (Oahu) and Kahului (Maui), which began in May 2019. The carrier also offers 38 flights a day among five airports in Hawaii, including Hilo International Airport as of this coming Sunday.
