New Dining Experience Brewing at EIA

Jan. 9, 2020
An innovative pre- and post-security combination dining option to open in 2020.

Passengers at Edmonton International Airport (EIA) will have a new dining option accessible from both sides of security in 2020, with a local Edmonton favourite coming to the airport through a partnership with ECG Ventures. The Canadian Brewhouse will start construction this winter and open in the terminal directly next to Central Security in the fall.

EIA, ECG Ventures and The Canadian Brewhouse will create a new restaurant experience accessible from both sides of security. This will be the 35th Canadian Brewhouse to open in Western Canada, and the first within an airport.

“We just couldn’t imagine a better place to experience the airport culture than in our own backyard,” says Roger Newton, president of The Canadian Brewhouse chain. “This is the city where we started, and ECG Ventures is the perfect group to work with to bring our brand to Edmonton International Airport. It’s a great facility where we can share our hospitality on a national and international level.”

A shift from the traditional Canadian Brewhouse model, this location will be permanently family-friendly, providing travellers of all ages a great dining opportunity when at EIA.

“We’re always looking to bring new options to our passengers,” says Myron Keehn, EIA Vice President of Air Service and Commercial Development. “This partnership with local brands The Canadian Brewhouse and ECG Ventures will be a great addition to our concession offerings both pre- and post-security.”

“We are extremely proud and excited to be operating at Edmonton International Airport in partnership with the Canadian Brewhouse,” says Cale Inglis, president of ECG Ventures. “The Canadian Brewhouse has a strong fan base because of its delicious food, unparalleled beverage options and its unbeatable hospitality.
