Indy Airport Celebrating Final Inaugural Flight of the Year with Frontier

Dec. 20, 2019
Airline becomes the latest carrier to offer Hoosiers a nonstop international flight.

Frontier Airlines is set to make the final inaugural flight out of the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) this year with a nonstop international flight to Cancun. This flight will make Frontier the only current ultra-low-cost airline to offer Hoosiers a nonstop international flight.

Other airlines that currently offer scheduled nonstop international flights out of Indianapolis include Southwest Airlines, Delta Air Lines and Air Canada. Southwest and Delta both offer a seasonal flight to Cancun that runs once weekly on Saturdays. Delta also offers a year-round nonstop flight to Paris and Air Canada offers year-round flights to Toronto. In addition, Apple Vacations offers seasonal public charter flights to Cancun/Riviera Maya and Punta Cana.

“We strive to give our customers as many options as possible and Frontier offering an ultra-low-cost nonstop international flight is an important accomplishment,” said Indianapolis Airport Authority Executive Director, Mario Rodriguez. “Adding this type of flight option is just one of the many ways we work to continue to improve and maintain our title as best airport in North America.”
