South Bend International Airport's Second Annual Aviation Education Day Event to Take Place on Oct. 26

Scouts will earn an Aviation Merit Badge for attending and completing all requirements.

South Bend International Airport (SBN) will host its second Annual Aviation Education Day event on Oct. 26 from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The free event is open to the public of all ages and scouts ages 11-17. The event features aircraft displays, airfield tours, airport equipment showcases, and interactive presentations. Scouts will earn an Aviation Merit Badge for attending and completing all requirements. Weather permitting, the event will also feature Young Eagle flights. These flights have limited availability.

The event will take place on the north side of the airfield. Parking is available near the corner of Lathrop Drive and Corporate Drive by the Air Traffic Control Tower. Gates open at 7:00 a.m. for check-in.

“Learning about aviation is intriguing for people of all ages,” said Tim O’Donnell, A.A.E., vice president of operations. “It satisfies a curiosity associated with an industry that people rely so heavily on.”
