April 16, 2019

American Airlines has announced that it will begin daily year-round service from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) to Bentonville, Arkansas Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA) beginning September 4, marking the first non-stop flights between Philadelphia and Bentonville.

American, the largest airline at PHL, will operate the flights on Embraer 175 aircraft.

“American’s focus on Philadelphia is making it easier for travelers in our region to get to more destinations and creating a convenient path for visitors to come to our city or connect through PHL on American’s network,” said Airport CEO Chellie Cameron. “We are pleased to add Bentonville to our route map and look forward to more flights to more cities.”

Bentonville, noted as the world headquarters for Walmart, is the 6th domestic destination that American has added in 2019. Earlier this year, American launched non-stop service from PHL to Sarasota, Key West and Melbourne, Florida. The airline begins new flights to Asheville, N.C., and Chattanooga on May 3. All the destinations, except Sarasota, are served only by American from PHL.

“As part of our continued effort to develop a leading route network from Philadelphia, American Airlines is proud to begin new year-round service to Bentonville, Arkansas,” said Jim Moses, Vice President of PHL Hub Operations. “The new route reinforces our efforts to make PHL the East Coast gateway of choice, connecting business and leisure customers throughout northern Arkansas to more than 120 destinations in the U.S., Canada, Caribbean and Europe.”
