Premier Aeronautique At SAT Officially Breaks Ground

March 26, 2019

Western LLC hosted an event on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 to celebrate the groundbreaking of “Premier AeroNautique at SAT,” the development firm’s newest Corporate Hangar Development at San Antonio International Airport. The new Corporate Aviation Campus will feature seven hangars and associated office space totaling over 125,000 SF.

The event was held on site at 10440 John Cape Road. Speakers included Russ Handy, Aviation Director for the City of San Antonio, City Councilman John Courage from District 9, Brad Henderson, CEO and President of Western LLC, Brock Miller, Manager of Partner Relations and Development at AirMed International, and Mark Fairchild, Vice President of Customer Experience at SyberJet Aircraft. Executives from Cutter Aviation and Jet Linx were also in attendance.

During his talk at the ceremony, Russ Handy said: “this $25 million multi-hangar development initiative is the largest single private or corporate capital project in San Antonio International Airport’s history. This new development is projected to be the centerpiece of the airport facilities and is part of our strategic plan to raise the bar.” These state-of-the-art facilities will be part of the first hangar development at SAT since 2014, where the average age of existing hangars is approximately 20 years. The facilities will be built-to-suit for the end users which may include a mix of charter operators, corporate tenants, MROs, and manufacturers.

Western LLC is designing and building the development and will be leasing the facilities to independent corporate clients. These new facilities will have a large impact on future clients’ business as evidenced by Brock Miller of AirMed International who told the crowd gathered at the ceremony: “this development will allow Air Evac and Air Med to better serve the patients we treat.” According to Mark Fairchild, it was very hard to find real estate and hangar space at the San Antonio International Airport, and he is happy to have been working with Western for the past year on this project. SyberJet Aircraft will use the space for its engineering, flight test operations and repair station. Financing will be provided by WesternSATLeasing, a subsidiary of American Corporate Airport Partners, LLC (ACAP). Most of the hangars have been leased but there is still some availability.
