Alaska Airlines Moves to Terminal 2 at O'Hare International Airport

March 6, 2019
The Chicago Department of Aviation and Alaska Airlines are announcing that effective Thursday, March 14, 2018, Alaska will relocate its operations from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2 at O'Hare International Airport.

The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) and Alaska Airlines are announcing that effective Thursday, March 14, 2019, Alaska will relocate its operations from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2 at O'Hare International Airport, including ticketing, check-in, gate assignments and baggage claim.

Alaska passengers are advised to check in at Terminal 2, and to claim luggage at Baggage Carousel 1 on the lower level. Alaska's flights will now operate from gates G4 and G6 located on the G Concourse.

All airport signage at O'Hare will be updated in the early morning hours of March 14 to reflect Alaska's new location in Terminal 2. The changes will also be applied on the CDA's website, www.FlyChicago.com. Alaska will notify its customers in advance by email and will have staff and signage at its ticket counters in Terminal 3 during the transition to redirect passengers to Terminal 2.

Alaska Airlines currently operates 10 daily departures from O'Hare. Its relocation to Terminal 2 was planned in conjunction with the opening of the L Concourse extension last year, which delivered O'Hare's first new gates in 25 years. An $8.5 billion investment that will bring forward more new gates, increased travel options and an elevated customer experience are the core elements of the O’Hare 21 terminal expansion program announced last year.
