Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Oct. 29, welcomed the inaugural flight of Kenya Airways from Nairobi to New York City, making it the first airline in East Africa to offer a non-stop direct flight from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Kenya to John F. “We are excited to welcome Kenya Airways – one of the leading African carriers – to Terminal 4,” said Roel Huinink, president and CEO of JFKIAT. “As New York City’s premiere gateway, this new flight route will provide passengers with a fast connection between New York to East Africa, while stimulating economic growth and tourism in both countries.”

The inaugural flight was celebrated at T4 with a ribbon cutting and commemorative remarks by Huinink; Robinson Githae, Kenya ambassador to the United States; Sebastian Mikosz, Kenya Airways Group managing director and CEO; Michael Joseph, Kenya Airways chairman; and James Macharia, cabinet secretary of ministry of transport.
