Halifax International Airport Authority (HIAA) continues to develop its concessions offerings to improve the passenger experience at Halifax Stanfield. A number of changes are currently underway which will impact service as we make way for modernized spaces and new concession offerings.
Pre-Security Renovations
- The Maritime Alehouse, operated by HMSHost and located in the main lobby, will be closed effective September 24 and is anticipated to reopen in early December. When it reopens, it will be rebranded as the Alexander Keith’s Alehouse. Please note: Bar service continues to be available at the ALT Hotel, which can be accessed from the pedway which connects the terminal building to the parkade.
- Hudson, located in the arrivals area, will be closed this fall in conjunction with renovations to the domestic arrivals hall. When complete, it will be an open concept store, offering its existing products as well as fresh flower options.
- The Crispy Leaf, a salad bar operated by Slip Hospitality, will open in the food court later this year or early next.
Post-Security Renovations
Domestic/International Departures Area
- Classic Back Rub, located near Gate 20, will close on September 28 after 20 years of operation at Halifax Stanfield. We thank Classic Back Rub for its years of dedicated service to passengers and congratulate its owner on her retirement. HIAA continues to source options for a spa concept for the airport.
- Fresh Attractions, operated by HMSHost and located near Gate 20, will be closed effective October 2 and is anticipated to reopen prior to the peak holiday travel period in December.
- The Firkin and Flyer, a British pub concept operated by Slip Hospitality, will open in the domestic/international departures area across from Gate 18 in October.
US Departures Area
- Spirit of the Maritimes, operated by HMSHost, is closed from Sept. 17 to Oct. 5. Please note: Tim Hortons and Hudson remain open in the US departures area, providing food and non-alcoholic beverage options. Bar service continues to be available pre-security at the ALT Hotel, which can be accessed from the pedway which connects the terminal building to the parkade.
