K5 Investment Group (K5) along with Edmonton International Airport (EIA), is pleased to announce the development of a new Fairfield Inn by Marriott located in the heart of EIA’s burgeoning Aerotropolis. The development of the property is currently underway, and the hotel is scheduled to open in early 2019.

The five-story structure will have 135 rooms and suites and will offer guests top-of-the line amenities, including a swimming pool, hot tub, fitness room, complimentary breakfast, meeting rooms, and a lobby bar. Of special note, this particular Fairfield Inn will be a modern concrete structure with high quality heating/cooling system, creating a comfortable, soundproof experience, and the property will reflect Fairfield Inn’s new, modern design and décor features.

Ron Kary of K5 Investment Group said, “K5 is thrilled to be partnering with Marriott and EIA to bring top of line, yet affordable hotel accommodations to Edmonton Airport. We have enjoyed working together at every juncture, and are proud to be part of such a dynamic, innovative team.”

Kary added, “Our ultimate objective is to offer something unique to travellers. With this revamped Fairfield design, coupled with our concrete structure and airtight heating/cooling system, we believe the hotel will be the ideal place for a traveller to get a deep and restful sleep. Additionally, the interconnectivity, amenities and complimentary shuttle transportation to and from the airport will provide our valued guests with the ultimate guest experience, beginning before they arrive and extending past their stay.”

The project is proceeding on schedule, progress K5 attributes to the exceptional team bringing it to fruition. Marshall Tittemore Architecture, OML Construction (“OML”), as well as Canadian Western Bank have been instrumental in quality design, construction and financing.

According to an OML spokesperson, the project will employ up to 800 people during the construction phase. K5 said it is pleased to support the ongoing economic growth and job creation this Fairfield Inn will bring to the community.

The investment group appreciates EIA’s approach to sustainability and environmental care, as well as their community involvement and commitment to local vendors. K5 believes these values are an excellent complement to Marriott ideals.

Kary concluded, “EIA is expanding, diversifying and thriving in so many areas, and our group knew this was something we wanted to be a part of. The synergy this partnership brings within the Aerotropolis will lead to the ultimate guest experience, and we look forward to delivering that.”
