Bobrick Washroom Equipment Inc. announced that Privada, its new high-end toilet partition system, has been honored by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) as a Top Winner in the Commercial & Industrial Products Category of the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) 2017.

The awards’ Silver and Gold honorees will be announced on August 19 at a ticketed Gala at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta.

“Privada was developed to address the need in the market for higher design and privacy,” says Roumany Samhakson, business unit director of partitions for Privada. “It was also developed to be a true ‘designer product’ — we’re thrilled to see it receive recognition from an esteemed organization like the IDSA.”

The product’s design was a collaborative effort between Dan Harden, IDSA, Hiro Teranishi, IDSA and Elliot Ortiz of Whipsaw Inc. as well as Dikran Babikian of Bobrick for Whipsaw and Privada. Gensler also served as the product design consultant.

Privada was developed to meet the discerning needs of architects, building developers and end users who desire a beautiful, simple and functional solution for exclusive restroom design applications such as luxurious hotel lobbies, Class-A office space and high-end restaurants.

Flush doors with minimal gaps among panels provide the increased level of privacy that today’s discerning patrons expect. The handle and lock hardware feature elegant forms, intuitive operation and durable stainless steel construction.

Privada features customizable hardware and height options, as well as concealed fasteners and connection points on all surfaces. It also can be fabricated with any finish offered by three of the industry’s premier high-pressure laminate (HPL) manufacturers or by other HPL manufacturers upon request.
