Heathrow Launches Destination Inspired Gin and Tonic T-bags Alongside Exclusive Gin
Heathrow and Chase Distillery have partnered to create an exclusive gin, only available at the UK’s biggest international airport. The new flavour has been created as part of a six-week long gin festival celebrating the incredibly popular spirit, which also sees the creation of a limited edition range of G&T-Bags inspired by the airport’s top 10 destinations. Visitors can also enjoy exclusive gin cocktails and dishes infused with the spirit in a number of restaurants throughout Heathrow.
Heathrow Exclusive GB Gin from Chase Distillery
10,000 bottles of the new Heathrow Exclusive GB Gin, by Chase Distillery will be available to purchase at Heathrow from 1st July. The distinctive dark green bottle has a union flag on the front and prominent GB marking to signify the very British drink.
To create the unique Heathrow GB Gin, Chase began by using the finest award-winning potato spirit from their Single-Estate farm in Herefordshire. After 119 distillations, the spirit is rested for ten days before being transferred into their pot still “Ginny”.
The finest botanicals from around the world were selected for the gin: Juniper from Macedonia for its superb oil content and flavour, the start of every gin should have the very best juniper. Oris root from China for its floral notes balance with sweet honeyed elderflowers from the Chase farm. Warming spice from Madagascan cloves. So much flavour into a small still requires the botanicals to be split between the still and the infusion chamber. After four hours of vapour infusion, the distillate is then blended back to a perfect balance, using additional award winning spirit and water sourced from the farm’s borehole.
Each batch is individually made and signed off by James Chase before being hand finished with a wax dip on the bottling line.
Limited Edition G&T-Bags
Over 40 varieties of gin are sold at Heathrow, and of these three quarters are British made. The unique T-bags are completely new to the UK, with infusions replicating flavours from three of the top destinations Heathrow flies to; the USA, India and Sweden
The USA G&T-bag combines red berries, hibiscus and apple for a sweet and rich taste, perfect for pairing with a juniper-based gin. Sweden’s ‘Rose Jasmine’ flavor is brimming with soft floral aromas; blending jasmine tea, rose petals, hibiscus and apple; best paired with a spiced gin. The India G&T-bag has a sweet, sour and spicy fusion of lemon, orange, black pepper and cardamom, which perfectly complements more floral gins.
Infused with dry blended botanicals and herbs, each pyramid-shaped silk pouch infuses in a gin and tonic to give an enhanced flavour experience, creating beautiful pastel shades as the natural ingredients slowly release their aromas and colours.
